August Networking to support The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society
Welcome back! Is it us, or does summer go by faster and faster each year? We hope everyone has been enjoying the beautiful New York and Connecticut weather and taking advantage of all of the great things happening in our area.
If you have been a part of the Greenwich Young Professionals Group (YPG) you know we are no stranger to Sign of The Whale in Stamford (SOTW). SOTW has always been a fantastic networking space. Located in the beautiful Harbor Point section of Stamford, this restaurant/venue has an amazing rooftop deck and industrial vibe inside that everyone loves.
We hosted our August networking event at SOTW and collaborated with The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society(LLS). LLS’ mission is to “cure leukemia, lymphoma, Hodgkin’s disease and myeloma, and improve the quality of life of patients and their families. LLS is at the forefront of the fight to cure cancer. Compared to other blood cancer nonprofits, LLS is the largest funder of cutting-edge research to advance cures. They have invested nearly $1.3 billion in research!” 1.3 billion?!
It’s always amazing to see all of you come out to meet new people, catch up with old friends, and support these great causes and missions. That evening we raffled off amazing prizes and raised over $500+ for LLS. Without your support, non-profits like this wouldn’t be successful spreading awareness or raising dollars to find cures. So THANK YOU! from the bottom of our hearts. Okay, sorry for being so mushy there.
Did you know that YPG has formed a team for LLS’ Light The Night Walk.?! Want to join us on November 2, at Calf Pasture Beach in Norwalk? You can either sign up or donate here. Any bit helps and thank you in advance! September is right around the corner. Get ready to enjoy another evening at Bareburger in Stamford, while we support another great cause, The American Cancer Society. Until next time friends!
